Chroma key technology isn't new. TV Weathermen and the cinema have used it for years. Now, with digital cameras, many photographers are shooting their subjects against a green background and, with special software, the green is removed and the remaining image is placed over a digital background.

Sounds easy enough. But the results usually look like the subject was simply cut out and just slapped against some scenic view from a postcard. Realism is lost. The overall image is not married.

Chroma Foxed images go that extra step- actually, that extra mile. Blending must be done, shading and hi-lites must be added, believable shadows must exist, the hue is frequently changed, and the color temperature of subject and background must match. Often, the body must be altered to flow with the background, or lean against that wall, or hold on to that railing. The subject and background must belong together.

This is Chroma Foxed.

Be real on a downtown Chicago street or a country road in Maine. Go back in time and be part of the roaring twenties. Be a maiden in a colorful fantasy forest or even a warrior fighting dragons in medieval times.
